Frequently asked questions
What is autodeposit?
Autodeposit lets a recipient receive an e-Transfer without answering a security question. If it is enabled on the recipient address, do not send a security question and answer, the funds deposit automatically.
What security question should I use?
Only the one shown on this page. Never use a question or answer that was sent to you in a message, and never put the answer in the transfer message field.
How long does an e-Transfer take?
Most arrive the same day. Some are held briefly for review by the sending or receiving bank. The transaction is updated once the deposit is received and reviewed.
Is there a limit on how much I can send?
Yes, and it is set by your bank rather than by Rbcpay. If the amount due exceeds your limit, use a bank wire instead of splitting the payment across several transfers.
Can I send an e-Transfer from outside Canada?
No. Interac e-Transfer operates between Canadian bank accounts. Use a bank wire for anything else.
What if the transfer is declined or expires?
The transaction stays unfunded until a successful payment is received. Send again with the correct details and submit the new reference number.
Check the address before you send.
Confirm the recipient email and the security question on this page, not in a message. If anything differs, stop and contact us first.
Rbcpay is a marketplace transaction platform and is not a bank or financial institution. Interac e-Transfer is operated by its own provider. Availability, limits and settlement are determined by your bank, not by Rbcpay.
